Program Description: 2 Day 1 Night Cabin Camping Trip for Grade 5-6 Girls in William Heise County Park
Are you ready for an adventure? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to our 2-day 1-night cabin camping trip for Grade 5-6 girls in William Heise County Park! Join H.A.T.C.H. for an exciting and educational journey that combines outdoor adventure with learning and personal growth. Get ready to disconnect from the digital world, connect with nature, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Let’s dive in!
William Heise County Park is the perfect location for a first camping trip because we will be staying in a cabin rather than a tent. The cabin has a bed that sleeps two, one bunk bed, and room on the floor for a 5th or 6th person. Our trip leader will be taking the floor spot, while all the students will have beds. The beds are wood-framed, and no mattress or bedding will be furnished. Therefore, students will have to bring their sleeping bags and pillows. A sleeping pad is recommended.
The cabin is also furnished with an indoor table with four chairs, an outdoor table, and a combo fire ring/bbq. Our goal for this trip is to get comfortable outdoors, hike and learn about the local flora and fauna, develop interests and skills, experience personal growth, build friendships, and develop confidence; all while playing, learning, and thriving in a beautiful outdoor setting.
During our trip, we will be spending quality time outside learning new skills and engaging in outdoor activities. We’ll disconnect from our cell phones, video games, and the internet and allow curiosity and wonder to take over and guide us. Our program is designed to help the students connect with nature, develop their outdoor skills, and create lifelong memories.
Some of the activities we have planned include:
- Hiking
- Learning about the local flora and fauna
- Drawing nature activity
- Learning important outdoor and preparation skills for future hiking or camping trips
Opportunities will also be provided for the students to reflect on their experiences and share their thoughts with the group.
Excited yet?! This 2-day 1-night cabin camping trip in William Heise County Park is the perfect opportunity to experience the outdoors and develop new skills in a safe and supportive environment.
